The Politecnico di Milano hosted the 11th EAEA Envisioning Architecture: Design, Evaluation, Communication Conference in 2013.
Following the mission of the association, the conference is meant to be a platform for communication and exchange of experiences, experimentation, research and collaboration in the field of environmental simulation in architecture and urban design. In particular, a focus on three tracks is proposed for the EAEA11, namely: - Visualizing Sustainability: making the invisible visible - Experiential Simulation: the sensory perception of the built environment - Conceptual Representation: exploring the layout of the built environment The first track explored how the representation of sustainability is used in architecture and urban design. The second track focused on the perception of the built environment, in order to explore techniques to integrate sensorial aspects in the design process. The third theme investigated aspects concerning the conceptual visualization, and therefore, the layout and the elements of the architectural and the urban space. The three tracks taked into account: - Innovative experiences from the research world, from teaching and professional practice, investigating the various stages of design: composition, evaluation and communication of design projects. - Applications to case studies and at different scales: from architecture to urban planning. - The use of different techniques of design, from hand drawing to CAD design, to BIM and parametric design. |
